I, (am not a) robot

No, I’m definitely not a robot.

The word robot was coined by the Czech writer Karel Čapek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots), published in 1920! Nowadays, you can even buy a robot vacuum cleaner – my dad’s seen one in action… ironically just outside Prague!

Did you notice that the website above is for a company called iRobot – also a film (I, Robot) with Will Smith (although Hancock is better!)…?

Me? I’m learning to control my arms and legs all on my own!
